The Cast and Crew of the Clemente Players!
by Nathan Bell on Mar.02, 2009, under Community, personal
I had the pleasure of photographing the cast and crew of the Werewolf’s Curse, Hair today Gone Tomorrow. They are currently in rehearsal for their performances the first weekend in April. They are the Clemente Players, directed by Dr. Sharon Willis (pictured in the front). All proceeds of the play go to benefit the Clemente Class, which is a pioneering educational experiment for the most needy of our society designed to fight the cycle of poverty by providing higher humanities education to those who would never otherwise have that opportunity. 5 Year Anniversary Pictures!
by Nathan Bell on Jan.11, 2009, under family portraits
Kaitlin and Robert got married 5 years ago on January 3rd, 2004 at Summerall Chapel. Their wedding was one of the first weddings I shot after taking over the Studio from my dad, and their album was the first flushmount storybook ablum that we produced by special request for Kaitlin. That storybook was the forerunner for our entire present album product line. So Kaitlin and Robert are a big deal for us around here (I still have a picture of her haning in the studio!).
Robert is finally back from serving our country in the Middle East, and they came to downtown Charleston to stay at the French Quarter Inn, where they stayed their honeymoon night.
AND THEY BROUGHT COLLIN, their 10 month-old little boy.
So of course we did a family portrait shoot right there at the Inn. It was great to see them again, especially on such a special day. Here are a few of the shots:

I love downtown engagement sessions!

Gil + Nicole = FUN!
A couple of weeks ago, I had a crazy fun afternoon engagement session with Nicole and Gil! Let me tell you, these two are my type of couple! Their fun-loving personalities matched perfectly with my creativity that day. I told Nicole that we have good “photo karma” – haha! They were up for anything, so we got some really unique and different shots. I can’t wait for their wedding!
I just love this one of them on the train tracks behind the U.S. Customs House!
One of my favorite Charleston attributes is all the fabulous wrought iron! The creative, handcrafted detail makes for a great photograph, if you ask me!
We often discuss at our studio how spoiled we Charleston photographers are to be around such awesome color & texture everywhere we turn! This is one of my favorite alleyways:
I love the lines of the tall staircase at the Customs House.
(Gil and Nicole were so great to let me “play” with them with all of my silly ideas!)
The downtown sunset was lovely that day too!
April & Justin's engagement session, historic Charleston portrait session
by valerieschooling on Nov.18, 2008, under engagement
After many months of planning and anticipation, April & Justin are getting married this weekend! They have been so much fun to photograph so far, and I can’t wait!
Taken in hisotric downtown Charleston, their engagement session was a lot of fun. I thought you might like to see a few fun pics of this happy couple!
West Ashley House, Catholic Church, Folly Beach, & Downtown Reception (whew!)
by Nathan Bell on Nov.11, 2008, under weddings
Nicole and Michael packed it out at their wedding! Their wedding was at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church, followed by pictures on the Beach, and then a trolley to the Harbour Club Downtown for the Reception!

Nicole was the most chill bride I've worked with in a while. All the ladies were getting ready at her house, champagne in hand, and feeling good.

Absolutely Charleston provided transportation for the wedding party that date. Their Trolleys add a great flavor to a wedding with multiple locations. Champagne kept flowing

Michael and his entourage were at Folly Beach early. Our new photographer Steve headed up their portraits.

Nicole enters. Our Lady of Good Counsel is a cute little chapel that has a pronounced "Folly Beach Feel".

The weather was so nice, that the tent was barely necessary, but the rooftop party with dinner downstairs was a blast. Steve took this picture from The Rooftop Bar at Vendue next door.
